Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week.
Reported Crime and Appeals
We are looking for your help regarding a recent spate of Graffiti around Burbage. We are currently investigating these incidents and looking for any CCTV or information that may help us identify those involved.
We are aware of a teenage male and female that were around the jitty area of Brookside (near the path to the allotments) on Friday 1st of May at 17:05. We would be very interested in identifying and speaking to them.
We are also aware of a lone older male at the Co-op on Boyslade Road at 05:10 on the morning of the 3rd of May.
Report also received from Reflections hair and beauty on Boyslade Road. We are aware that many park signs and other buildings from Brookside up to the Higham Way area have been damaged. If you have any information, please get in touch. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk 26000251517

Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
Vehicle stop search and person stop searches on Brookside and Fletcher Road following patrols and work in the area by officers. A quantity of class A drugs found and seized.
Patrols completed at local parks where we spoke to multiple groups of youths and explained what Anti-social behaviour was and made sure they understood the impact of their behaviour. Overall there were some productive engagements and we have not received any calls, as more/larger groups of youths are out and about with the better weather.
Since our last update, we have received 30 calls to Police, 8 were emergency and 3 were priority calls. Domestic related incidents were a significant proportion of these calls.
We will be at the Co-op on Boyslade Road from around 15:00-16:30 on Tuesday 12th of May for our monthly beat surgery so pop along if you would like a chat or any crime prevention items.
Other work this week includes several neighbour disputes and parking issues. Whilst we will make attempts to resolve concerns, we also rely on partner agencies such as LCC Highways to implement solutions, we also need the support of local schools, businesses and motorists to have some consideration for road safety.
We are currently working with local businesses and schools to identify those involved in the recent graffiti. This type of crime costs money and time to clean up and makes the area look a complete mess. This work supports the ASB action plan, which outlines how we will work with partners and communities to prevent and tackle ASB. Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
With very few reports of crimes such as vehicle theft and residential burglary in Burbage over recent weeks, please continue to be mindful around home security as the better weather is here. Consider the opportunities you are offering to criminals if you leave windows open when you are not about, back gates left unlocked, car doors/windows open, leaving garage doors open so your bicycles or gardening equipment is on display. You never know the intentions of someone driving or walking around your area so please stay alert.
Thank you and take care.
